This body of work draws from Renaissance portraiture, Greek and Roman sculpture, and Mexican ceramic ware, all gathered for show in the world’s richest museums. With these images as a starting point, I contemplate the thoughts and aspirations of these ancestral figures, but also the excesses, wars, and destruction that their cultures occasioned.
