We're not so different after all
"We're not so different after all" is an oil painting on canvas.
For this piece, I reflected on my ancestor Mary who was considered in her time to be “ungodly" simply for just wearing her hair down and her dress off her shoulder. I couldn’t help but relate to her and how all women can probably connect to each other in some similar way, whether that be through pain, trauma or just being a woman in general. I was also heavily inspired by "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne for this piece and how society views women.
